- How much can you afford to invest into your idea? This seems like an obvious point, and it is, but a common mistake is to overestimate what we can afford. Give yourself a margin for error and hidden expenses when you set your budget.

- Marketing. After you have taken the time to produce your e-book of golfing tips the “How to… guide” we spoke of earlier, marketing your product is crucial to success. Use at least three types of marketing strategies. Don’t rely on a single marketing tool to reach all of your customers.
- Set goals. Do you want to keep your business small or expand over time? Consider where you would like your business to be in the next three to five years. Having a defined aim will decide how your company develops.
